A Birthday Gift That Started It All

My name is Max Rowe, the “Mad” one behind this operation, and my entire journey traces back to a single, fateful birthday. My father, wanting to encourage my new interest in baseball, didn’t just give me a single pack—he handed me a three-ring binder, already filled with cards. My eyes widened as I flipped through the plastic sleeves, a universe of players unfolding before me. And then I saw him: Mark McGwire, from the 1995 Topps set. That one card, nestled in that gifted binder, felt like holding a piece of the big leagues. I was completely, utterly hooked. That binder was the seed.


My own collection quickly burst through its first pages, outgrew the binder, took over a dresser drawer, and eventually sprawled across my entire bedroom. What began as the most memorable birthday present evolved into selling duplicates to friends, then setting up a table at local card shows, and now, here we are. Mad Max’s Sports Cards is the culmination of that lifelong passion—a digital shop where I can connect with collectors like you and share the cards we love.
